Welcome to Image Annotation

Image Annotation log

Introduction

Image Annotation for Intelligence Amplification (IAIA), or just Image Annotation, is a very simple annotation tool to markup (or annotate) your images for use with deep learning object detection algorithms like darknet and darkflow. To be able to use this application, you will need a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.8 or higher. If you do not have a JRE, then click here to download JRE v1.8.

What are some key features and/or differentiators of Image Annotation?

  • Simplicity: It is very easy to use.

  • Portability: It can run on Linux, Windows, and MacOS.

  • Shapes: You are able to draw polygons (including rectangles) and annotate your shapes.

  • Compatibility: You may export your images and annotations as inputs to object detection algorithms.

  • Affordability: We have competitive, affordable pricing.

  • Document-Centric: It can convert typical documents (e.g. PDFs and DOCXs) to images.

  • darkflow: It supports exporting to darkflow format.

  • darknet: It supports exporting to darknet format.

Where’s the proof?

As a teaser and fun example, you are able to use IAIA to help detect Mario.

Additionally, here are some git repositories of artifacts exported by IAIA for use with darkflow and darknet.

Where do I go from here?

Enough talking, let’s get starting with the Quickstart.
